Build a Birdhouse is a simple family friendly activity. The aim is to fully assemble a birdhouse using recycled and sustainable materials.
Material
Problem
Firehoses are wasted every year as they are designed for one purpose only.
Build a birdhouse gives this unique material a new and joyful purpose. It is a great use of material for durability and strength as well as being waterproof. Our unique design only uses 2 materials which are recycled firehose and cedarwood.
Testing
Through prototyping we designed the laser cut frames. The user can simply slide the panel of firehose into its frame to create a face for the birdhouse. This is a simple solution that greatly aided our flatpack idea.
